Have a dvd player  hooked to my television it has a type  A connection

tried putting that  cable into my computer

it was to large

Well I just checked my H50-50 (which is the Intel vs AMD version of the H50 series) and it most certainly has a standard Type A HDMI Port right above the VGA port, that is just like one in the picture of the H50-55 below found here, so I am surprised that they changed it, but either way you can still get a Type C cable that will work.
