Idea Center K210

2009-10-11, 3:50 AM

I need Help in a quick way. My IE 7 is screwed and I have to do a system reinstall. I have the OneKeyRecovery, but nothing seems to be working as far as getting to the recovery partition. I was told once before to boot up and when I see the Lenovo logo press the One Key Recovery button on the keyboard, and I should get a screen and click Recover Factory Backup to start recovery function >> follow on screen >> and press E.... this did not work..Please someone help me to get to the recovery partition. I went in the other way and what do I choose? Update Base Backup >> Recover Base Backup >>> Instant Backup >> Instant Recovery......I am not concerned about losing what is on the computer I have backups....Thanks in advance

System Serial #: 5xxxxxx

Product ID:89578-OEM-7332157-00056

Follow up..I did uninstall the One Key Recovery since it did not work thinking I could get to the recovery partition by tapping an F key on reboot. So far no luck...

Thanks  for any help on this

Sorry, but I have an opinion here. If Lenovo is going to sell a Idea Center Lenovo K210 series computer.. then they should monitor the help board or not sell the series at all. The fact that I got NO help with this issue will definitely tend to make me NOT suggest to my daughter-in-law to buy a Lenovo. She is in the market for one NOW......Someone came in and X'ed out my serial #, and yet never answered my question, why? You all have a good day, but you may never see this as I assume you never come here.......

Bama158,

I'm sorry you haven't yet received the assistance you're looking for. This is a peer to peer forum where users help users, there are some Lenovo employees who help out when they can, you can be lucky or unlucky.

It was me that x'ed out your serial number to prevent someone from using it for the wrong reasons, posting a s/n is like posting your credit card number, not advisable at all and any moderator, none of which is a Leneovo employee, will edit a s/n immediately.

As for not answering your post, unfortunately we don't have IdeaCentres in Germany, I've never laid eyes on one. I would loved to have been able to help but simply don't know the systems. Have you tried contacting support directly? Maybe they can help?

Regards

Andy

Hey Andy,

First let me thank you for helping me by X'ing out my serial number. After I posted here my friend said they may need more info, so thats when I posted the other info. Also, let me apologize as I had no idea that this board is not moderated by Lenovo. I had the phone number written down and was going to call them the next day, but fortunately the night before I played around and finally got to the recovery partition. Don't ask me how, because I could not tell you. When the One Key Recovery did not work after trying many, many times I uninstalled it thinking I could access the recovery partition using some F key, but I tried that with every F key on the keyboard with no success.

I have recovered my Vista, and also have the One Key Recovery reinstated. I have not tried that key again since I got all but my Paint Shop Pro materials installed, but thats almost done now. Do you by any chance know if Lenovo has a recovery CD for this system? Since the One Key Recovery did not work last time I am not sure it would if I have to use it again.

It appears to me that the Idea Center computers are not a priority with Lenovo. Had I known that I would not have gotten the Idea Center, but went with the other one, the Think Center desktop that a friend has. I want to thank you for answering my post. I hope you have a good evening, and a great weekend.

Thanks again,

Bama158
