The specs show you have a 65w power supply, the smallest that was available for this system.  It is enough to power the system as is, but not enough for a 30w graphics card (GT 1030), or any graphics card.  Your system was also available with 90w, 120w, and 150w supplies.   I suggest buying a 120w supply from Ebay, that will also give you some room for other upgrades down the road (ie. add a SSD.)   Power supply part numbers are listed at the back of the Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM), avail. at the support page for your system at Levono.   To determine the wattage of your existing supply, you may need to Google the part number on the power supply itself.

(Other 310s owners:  Depending the power requirements of the Intel or AMD processor of your specific system, if you have a stronger existing power adapter, you may need to upgrade to the 150w adapter.  Basically you need an additional 30w for this card.)

Update:  be sure to get a GT 1030 with DDR5 memory, as those with DDR4 memory have half the gaming performance.

Does your system currently have a graphics card?  And what power supply does your system have, the wattage marked on it or the Lenovo part number?

is it possible to use a Asus 1030 oc Phoenix in the Ideacentre 310 s with 2tb of storage to achieve a better graphics?

I'm not familiar with all the different cards, but when I Googled "Asus 1030 oc Phoenix", it showed a full height card, which will not fit in a slim (or small form factor, SFF) PC.  There maybe different versions, but understand that only a short low-profile card will fit in your 310s.

Update:  the Gigabyte low-profile card with DDR5 is the shortest available, and is able to fit in most space constricted systems:  GV-N1030D5-2GL

Thank you very much it helped me a lot. I found a low profile card and it is even a bit cheaper than the Phoenix but has the same clock speed.

I have the 310s AMD A9 R5 cores and that comes with 120w standard in UK... Don't go Intel with such a small cheaper PC compaired to AMD Intel is the cave man stuck in its ways of only offering low end goods when it comes to cheaper end products.

Have been looking for a GC to add to my 310s for a while and came across this post as I have never needed a low profile card was very unsure. So this post helped Thanks

For the record... Anyone with a lenovo 310s DO NOT BUY THIS CARD the GF GT 1030. I can confirm its too long and will NOT fit. Only by 2-3mm but with the way the tower is made and the front casing holding your hard drive and disc drive it will not fit. Even lifting the casing up (as it slides up and forward) when you go to close it after slotting in GC it will not close..

Stick to the cards that have been confirmed for your 310s.. Until Lenovo decide to change the inside of the tower to improve the range of GC's we will have to stick to the crappy ones.. Not that the 1030 was epic or Legendary more like a normall to rare!!!

What is the model of the card you tried?  And some photos of it in the slot would be super helpful.  Thx.
