Installing PCI-E Card - Void Warranty?

I was given the Ideacentre 710 desktop as a very unexpected Christmas present. I hadn't planned on getting a new computer until I could get high speed internet - I'm stuck on dialup. My choices are to use a USB dialup modem or install an internal PCI-E dialup modem. Would installing an internal modem myself void the warranty?

I tried contacting customer service but I was hoping to get email or chat support, but Lenovo doesn't do that. It's very inconvenient to do phone support (assuming that's free). So I'm hoping someone here might know something about this. Thanks.

Re: Installing PCI-E Card - Void Warranty?

Hi lilbblu87

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

So long as nothing inside your PC is damaged and no warranty stickers are removed, I don't see it being an issue in regards to the warranty. It would also need to be removed should you ever need a repair under warranty. I would however suggest you contact US support using this link, pop in your SN and then on the right hand side click on 'Chat with a support agent' or 'Email support' so they can advise you further.

Hope this help you and let us know how you get on
