K430 with OneKey 4.0 has no option to make a recovery disk

What are my options on this machine to make a recovery disk and backup in case of a hard drive failure? Also noticed OneKey 4.0 won't recognize external hard drives greater than 1TB. Why?

Re: K430 with OneKey 4.0 has no option to make a recovery disk

Thanks for your reply Shiva. A simple question for many in this group but for someone who has jumped from XP to 8.0 there is a lot to learn.  The K430 desktop is a year old with Windows 8.0 64 bit preinstalled with a restore partition and boots in UEFI mode. There are no instructions in the manual on how to make a boot disk.

Since my 1st post I found  that I can do this with Windows 8 Restore and made a USB flash boot drive with the restore partition copied to it. Size was about 10Gig. Previously I used OneKey to make an image of the main drive on a 1TB USB hard drive, size about 500Gig. Is this this good enough to restore the system and all the files and programs in case of a hard drive failure?

I think I will also purchase backup software like Acronis True Image as OneKey 4.0 is limited on what it can do including using disks larger than 1TB

Re: K430 with OneKey 4.0 has no option to make a recovery disk

Hi Ajssinc,

I understand your concern. Hence, the best way to backup is by backing up your personal data stored in the computer and then “Create a USB recovery drive” using a flash drive which contains only the OS (Operating System) backed up files.

Do post us back for further queries.

Best Regards

Re: K430 with OneKey 4.0 has no option to make a recovery disk

Check the user manuals on the support site for your machine.

V2 says little about OKR. V1 has better info.

How many partitions on external drive > 1 tb. humm. okr probably only supports 1 partition on external?

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
