K450e - Creating a USB recovery stick when out of warranty

2018-09-14, 21:10 PM

How do I create a USB recovery stick when out of warranty? My system has not been able to update Windows for almost the entire year. It continually tries, and thus continually resets itself, every couple of days. And of course it is a security issue. I've followed dozens of steps to try to fix it, to no avail.

I've given up and just want to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch. But I can't get the Windows license out of the machine and I read that I need to use the Lenovo USB recovery stick to reinstall instead.

But the Lenovo USB recovery creator says that I need an open order. And I can't create an open order because my computer is out of warranty.

How can I create a Lenovo USB recovery stick for my Lenovo K450e (or re-install Windows 10 from scratch via any other means).
