Latest Intel Gfx driver posted on for H50-50 is not compatible.

Latest Intel Gfx driver (Driver Version: posted for the H50-50 at will not install. Displays Error: "The Driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer".

The driver in question is listed on the website for the H50-50, and is also recommended for it by System Update.

System Info
Lenovo H50-50 MT: 90B7000HUS
OS Windows 10 64-bit 1607 (OS Build 14393.693)

Filename: u2vdo76us14.exe dated 12/26/2016
Hashes below taken from the downloaded installer appear to match those listed on Lenovo website.
CRC32: 6DA4220B
MD5: 00D178F7E1676DAECDB5AAD19005D3A4
SHA-1: 4784BD9F47780200437217EF6A516C2FD009B1B5

Not really a big deal since the previously posted v. dated 06/13/2016 is installed and working fine for me, but though I should report the error since an updated driver might be needed by others to correct their issues.

Re: Latest Intel Gfx driver posted on for H50-50 is not compatible.

Hi JDGillis,

I've seen this happen on several computers. I have been able to update the drivers in 3 ways.

  1. Manually selecting the driver.inf from the extracted driver files.
  2. Deleting all drivers that windows install for the gpu until windows only detects a basic adapter. Then installing the driver form Lenovo/Intel.
  3. Using DDU uninstaller. Then installing the driver from Lenovo/Intel.

Of the 3, the 3rd option is the quickest, but you have to download a 3rd party app to do the work for you.

Hope this helps.

Re: Latest Intel Gfx driver posted on for H50-50 is not compatible.

Manually installing the driver is always an option for those who know how to do so, but the purpose of my post was to point out the problem with the driver installer posted by Lenovo on their support site.

The reason that the driver will not install  is due to the Intel installer stub detecting non-generic hardware, which is the same issue one will find when trying to install generic display drivers from, so this is an installer packaging error, and not a driver specific install issue.

When Lenovo posts defective driver installers on their support site, it creates a bad customer experience, and certainly brings into question whether there has been any testing done to the drivers by Lenovo prior to their releasing them to the public, so I would hope that they would either fix the problem, or re-post the previous version of the driver until they do.

Lenovo reviewed the installation issue reported against Intel GFX Driver, v. It was identified that the previous driver must be uninstalled first, before upgrading to v. A note has been added to the installation instructions.
