Lenovo 3000H hard disk problem

2011-03-09, 9:57 AM

I bought a Lenovo 3000H Series desktop almost a year ago. It was working fine then but now the hard disk has developed a problem. A few weeks back I started receiving messages that the hard disk was failing and I needed to backup my hard disk and so I created the backup. But now whenever I start my PC I get a display where I have to press F2 to continue the boot up process. I have also seen the computer has slown down because of this. But the question is where to ask for help? I hope you have observed there is no support for the "Value Line" products except this forum. When I began searching this site for some help from the Lenovo staff, at all paces the help options were for either Think series products or for the Idea series ones. I did not know which of the two was mine so I searched through all their types only to see that mine was not listed in both these categories. The help lines are either for sales or for these two 'revered' types. Finally I found this forum where there was some help for the cheaper products you buy. I had already begun to think I would be left with no one to help. Even free stuff comes with more support than what I see here. And I doubt you will not get to read this (for what I have written here) but if by chance the moderators think that what I have written is not just some airy-fairy tale but hardcore reality then I request you to please help me with this hard disk problem.

Thank you,

Pranay Shah

I think you have a year warranty so if its less than a year get them to replace the harddrive otherwise thank goodness harddrives are so cheap these days . I know mine uses a Seagate Barracuda drive , so if you can't get satisfaction from lenovo contact Seagate or whoever makes your hd and see if they will do anything for you , it worked for me on a Maxtor drive that was like 2-3 years old and they sent me a replacement without questions...
