Lenovo H330 w/Win 10: network slow & disconnects; upgrade CPU

2021-04-15, 15:29 PM

Hello, guys.

I got a Lenovo H330 and I want to upgrade CPU for "normal function", not for gaming and graphics. Details below:

My PC now:
-Proccessor: Intel(R)Core (TM) i3-2120 CPU@ 3.30GHz
-RAM: 8 GB DDR3-1600

-64 bits, procesador x64

Last year, I upgraded to Windows 10 Home. Now, my desktop slows down and always show Network Apdapter disconnect.

Any Suggestions?

This is a known problem with Lenovo motherboards using Intel 'Sandy Bridge' processors and Chipsets, as Sandy Bridge is pre-Windows 10 support and drivers.  See this thread:  M81 M91p: Win 10 Freeze & Network Lockup (Intel Ethernet NIC, adapter)

Suggestions:  1. download and install the latest drivers for the Ethernet adapter and for the Intel graphics directly from the Intel download site.  This could reduce the slowdowns and disconnects.  Use this thread to bypass driver validation.  This has no cost, the next suggestions do, but there are not guarantees of how much success you will have  2. per the above thread, replace the Ethernet adapter  3. replace the Ethernet and graphics adapters.

Hello @ Janxxx!

Welcome to the Community Forums!

As for the network adapter, this may seem to be a driver or a Windows related issue that needs to be sorted out.

Please click on this link first then update your device's network adapter driver then restart it and see if it will still get disconnected.

Also, launch the Vantage app and check for any available driver updates and download/install it as well.

By the way, does the machine runs slow when using a specific app or when doing a specific activity?

As for upgrading its parts, we can only recommend to use parts that are available (certified) through the Lenovo support site itself or through its hardware maintenance manual and see if it's also available or can be used on the machine.

Thanks,

Adriel_Lenovo

It would help to know model number of the network adapter (use Device Manager.)

Hi, Adriel.

I just met the same problem for network adapter yesterday. All function well except the network...
