Due to a case change of my Lenovo H50 and H30 desktop, I want to exchange the PSU to a stronger one with 14 pins. So I bought a FSP350-40EMDN with 350 Watt instead of the default 280/240.
The color codes of the cables are the same as the original PSU.
Except for Pin 14 - this is a white cable (-5Volts) on the original PSU and is missing on the new PSU.
From what I have read, this is not really needed by newer motherboards.
Any idea, if my H50 motherboard will work without it?

For everyone interested...
Seems it works.
I received the FSP350-40EMDN PSU today. Motherboard works without problems.
My Lenovo H50-50 was moved to a new case too (NOX Coolbay MX2) - better cooling with I7 CPU and GTX1050Ti GPU.
Upgrading an OEM desktop isn't that difficult.
It's the needed adaptors making it hard

Looking to do exactly the same and luckily found this post.
What adapters did you need?
Are you still using the stock i7 4790 cpu?
Do you have photos - mainly ones for psu wiring.
Was it hard to get power buttons to work?
Motherboard is rated for PCIE 3.0 right? But it comes stock with a pcie 2.0 gpu (geforce gtx 745 2gb)
I have a 500w PSU already and a large case ready for the transplant.
Did you go for a mini GPU? The case i have currently is too large and would require a full sized gpu.
- Alot of questions hopefully you have the know how i've been looking for!

I am still using this OEM board - the i7 4790 CPU and 16 GB of DDR3 RAM
The wiring of the switches was easy with some help here from the community.
You can read more on my challenge here, but it's german only. There you can find the needed adaptors in addition to the wirings, mainly the HD Audio connector.
Everything running smooth and fine. The NOX case has better cooling too than the Sharkoon.
For the PSU I recommend buying a newly/sealed one from eBay.
I bought on from a german company "ebs-computermarkt" - this one here (I sent a "price offer" of 40 Euros instead the 49 Euros he wants which got accepted by him a day later).
It has the required 14-Pin adapter for the motherboard, the 4 Pin connector and a 6 Pin connector for a graphics card.
The cable/Pin layout is identically to Medion/Lenovo OEM boards, the missing 5V Pin is just for older board pre 2010 and has no use.
(I never tried using another 24 Pin PSU with adaptors)
