Hello,

To answer your question, Lenovo Browser Guard has not been installed by Lenovo for over a year. Yes, you can have MBAM remove it if you wish.
See: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Security-Malware-Knowledge-Base/Lenovo-Browser-Guard-Facts-and-Q-amp-A/ta-p/1722691

Regarding LSC, please refer to the information in the Advisory.

There isn't much more that I can add to the information provided in the FAQ's. There are a couple of discussions over on the Security & Malware Board that might be of interest.

In my  opinon, there are more comprehensive alternatives to Lenovo Browser Guard:

* A popular, safe browser add-on is Web Of Trust. WOT it rates sites by using colored icons that show up in surfing and in searches: Green=Safe/Yellow=Caution/Gray=Not Rated/Red=Danger Warning

* If you are using the paid (Pro) version of Malwarebytes that provides website blocking as well.  There are reasons why MBAM considers an application as a PUP. The Lenovo Browser Guard issue could be one or more of these.

* You also might consider SpywareBlaster and/or WinPatrol. Both have free versions and are not identified as PUPs.

You did not mention your operating system. See if this article helps with your recovery disc question.

I have removed it from my Lenovo laptop because I prefer to use the applications that I mentioned above. However, after you read all the related information, only you can make the decision for yourself because you are familiar with your surfing habits.
