New PSU for my H50-55

2018-09-27, 7:33 AM

Hi.

I´ve bought the Thermaltake London 550W power supply. I have the 24 to 14 adapter, but I can´t find the right 4 pin to go into my motherboard. I´ll attach a photo of the one I need (the one from the old PSU). Can anyone give me a hint on where to find this adapter?

Kind Regards,

Joachim

What is that 4 pin called? I think it´s EPS, but I´ve only managed to find the wrong kind (female or male).

There are tons of these connections, but all of them are the wrong type. The "sexes" are reversed. Where can I find the right one?

Hi Joachimtobias!

Welcome to the Lenovo Community Forum!

Just to confirm, does the new PSU (Thermaltake London 550W power supply) does not come with a 4 pin male? If not, could you take a picture of the actual cable that come with the new PSU? We're looking forward to your reply.

Regards!

Hi ChrisE and thank you for replying.

No, the London PSU doesn´t come with a 4 pin male. But it has some strange cable solution that includes two separate 2 pin connectors which combined look an awful lot like the 4 pin that I need, so maybe this might be crazy enough to work. I won´t pick my Desktop apart again now that it´s running late here in Norway (I had quite the hazzle this morning making it fit which it barely does). I´ll attach a photo of the two 2 pins so you can see for yourself, and maybe you can give me some advice?

Hello Joachimtobias! We're happy to help you out. By the way, please see the layout of the motherboard first (https://imgur.com/a/wHMTl3h). Based on the PSU that you've purchased, this image (https://imgur.com/a/J7Jr4vg) it's using 8 pin EPS 12v power cable which may not be able to fit in the 4pin 12v power connector on the motherboard.

Hello Joachimtobias! We're happy to help you out. By the way, please see the layout of the motherboard first( see photo #1 below). Based on the PSU that you've purchased, this image (see photo #2 below) it's using 8 pin EPS 12v power cable which may not be able to fit in the 4pin 12v power connector on the motherboard. Hope that helps.

Hey guys, I was wrong.

It seems like a 8 pin directly from the PSU, but it´s in fact two 4 pins attached that can be dettached and work as the exact 4 pin that I need. There are no extra SATA connections though. Not the kind that would fit in a harddrive. It would be nice to have some extra since though I have a few harddrives with no other home.
