Poor wireless range and poor upload and download speed

Just bought the Lenovo idea centre.

fabulous looking thing, great packaging, BUT RENDERED COMPLETELY USELESS BY THE POOR WIRELESS PERFORMANCE. Basically it will only connect if it is close enogh to through an ethernet cable at - kinda pointless then!!!!

How does this get out of QA - DON'T you test this stuff!!!!

Totally unacceptable waste of my time.

Not impressed

Re: Poor wireless range and poor upload and download speed

Wonder could you tell me what Ideacenter you bought that has the poor wireless range.

also could you list what you see down in the right hand corner of the screen where the wireless icon is .

I have quite a bit of wlan experience and may be able to help .

Re: Poor wireless range and poor upload and download speed

I have the same exact problem... My machine is an IdeaCentre A300. Our router is only 35 to 40 feet away. Signal strength is 2 bars at best (when it connects). Also drops connection alot when connected. Is there a way to fasion some sort of antanna or something to improve reception? Would we be better off getting a USB wifi card and hoping for better connection?
