Q700 - A/V IN port

2010-01-08, 20:39 PM

I just got my hands on an IdeaCentre Q700 and I was looking forward to play (and it works as expected) and record through the A/V IN port.

My questions are:

1. Why there is no cable to connect to this port?

2. Where can you buy such a cable?

3. What program can I use to see this port to record from it or simply play it to my HDTV?

4. Is this A/V IN port linked to the tuner or the motherboard?

Thank you in advance!

I just call Lenovo Tech support and I am getting no-where. The Tech support said to call sales and ask them for support??????/

This s-video port is a non-standard 8 pin cable. If you force a 4 pin USA s-video cable it will break.

How on earth am I going to get this solved. This unit was made for sale only in the US but with a Chinese S-Video port!

I have 2 units of these and more on the way.

(ignore previous version deleted)

I did some more digging, and finally found this video that covers the I/O features of the Q700.  You can see in the video that it is an 8-pin connector, not the 9-pin DIN I originally thought.  The reviewer claims that the Q700 came with a "dongle" that converts the input plug into various other formats.

Any sign of the "dongle" in your box?
