I am giving my Windows 7 Lenovo H405 desktop tower away and need to reset to factory settings to make sure all my files are deleted from the computer. However, the tips I find for doing this either involve a very complicated process that I am afraid would also wipe out my OS, or the instructions include pathways I do not have access to.
The help in Control Panel says I can return the computer to factory settings:
This option deletes everything on your computer, including all of your files and any programs you’ve installed, and replaces it with a recovery image provided by your computer manufacturer.
Does anyone out there know how I can get a recovery image from Lenovo? I do not want to purchase a support package from them as I am giving this computer away as soon as I get it cleaned up.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Double check if there is anything else you needed before proceeding on all available partitions extracting all personal information as needed without changing size or deleting partitions).
From the user guide here (page 16 about One Key Recovery), restart the machine and keep tapping F2. Choose System Recovery to launch One Key Recovery from initial set up. From here you allow the process to finish and you can even set it up back but now with just a local account (non email account) and triple check to confirm.
Take this opportunity to create a recovery image as described here. This may be an option for you instead of purchasing it
I hope this helps answer your query.
