Sabotaged my H50-55 when installing new PSU and Graphics card

2019-02-14, 12:19 PM

Hi.

I wanted to install Thermaltake London 550W and an MSI R7 370 in my H50-55. There was a problem with the space. It finally fit, but first after I managed to do some real harm to my machine. The two plugs that go into the back side of the CD-drive, I distroyed the top one of them (looking at it when you remove the one side that gives access to the motherboard). What is that wire and connector called, so I can purchas a new one.

Also I managed to break to small wires. One white and one black. The white one is at the one end connected to somwhere near the top of the outtake for ePCI (like where the graphics card comes out). The blask one goes into a bundle of wires that connects different places. They're not broken per se, but I yanked them out from whereever they were connected. I'm chanceless on my own trying to figure out where I'm supposed to reconnect these.

Constructive input (and please be very descriptive) will be grately appreciated.

From the optical drive they are SATA power which now you'll be using the one that came with the Thermaltake and the other is a SATA III data cable that come in a variety lengths and angled connectors.

As to the white and black wires, I'm thinking could be the antenna wires for 11/b/g/n, PCIe Half Mini Card, Wi-Fi + Bluetooth combo adapter unit?

Thank you, that was helpful. I ended up removing the new PSU, and therefore also the graphics card since the 6 pin for that one was only on the new PSU.

It seems to work just fine, but I get no net-connection, so you were probably right about one of them being a 11/b/g/n wire. Now I just need to figure out where it's supposed to go.

Only one end of the antenna wires attach to the PCIe network card the other ends are loose and go anywhere out of the way but should be extended within case.

Can anyone see, from the attached photo of my motherboard, where the WiFi antenna is supposed to go? Maybe copy the picture and draw an arrow or something.

Is this, (see attached photo), the PCIe network card?

Okay so I am fairly certain it does not matter which white or black antenna wire plugs into what WiFi card socket and as request here is a what is what and where to go.

The blue line is for an idea of routing.

I will be gone much of today.
