Storage diagnostic error WHD0000C00000-J08V2D

My K450e desktop has been having serious performance problems lately... and the hard drive light is steady on.

The storage system is the only item that fails the Lenovo diganostics ... does this mean the hard drive needs to be replaced?  If so, does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest way to clone the system drive?

Re: Storage diagnostic error WHD0000C00000-J08V2D

Hi GLowMan,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It is most likely that the Seagate-ST2000DM001-1CH164-Z1E8TQLV would need to be replaced. This may also be the reason of slow or freezing performance as it shows failure on Read test with others now showing warning.

I suggest aside from cloning to backup your files specially the most important ones on a separate location or upload them in your cloud drive as the drive integrity may soon fail.

You can review the post here and here for cloning suggestions you can try.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Storage diagnostic error WHD0000C00000-J08V2D

Thanks for your reply and I will be replacing this drive with a Seagate FireCuda 2TB drive.  Will I be able to clone the drive considering the Read Test failures?

Re: Storage diagnostic error WHD0000C00000-J08V2D

Hi GLowMan,

Greetings.

Well I hope the read error do not happen during the cloning. Personally I would rather manually back up the files instead, taking each file category batch after batch.

Regards
