WLAN- USB-Adapter on Lenovo 3000 Desktop needs plenty of time to connect

In order to connect the Lenovo 3000 Desktop to my network and by the router to the internet, I installed a Netgear W111v3 USB adapter. The device works, but it lasts more than 1 minute after starting up my account until the desktop is connected to the router. In all other of my computers it needs only somme seconds. When I tried an adapter of another company on the Lenovo, it lasts 20 additional seconds more. Possibly the Lenovo has problems to identify the USB adapter.

I have a Airlink MIMO XR AWLL5025 adaptor and once the software is installed it's a breeze. Once Vista kicks in and the side bar show the adaptor is already connected to the router/ internet. 
 
I would say that check the software to make sure your connections are at max and go from there.  Other choice is to check that you are connected at the router (hard wire) to see if the same speeds are obtained on connection.  Last choice get a new adaptor.
