ideacentre Q190 - is it possible to install OS in UEFI GPT mode?

I'm trying to install Windows 10 on my Q190 in UEFI mode. If I disable CSM in the BIOS and boot from a Windows 10 USB flash drive, I get an error messsage that there are no drives. On another PC the USB drive boots in UEFI mode and installs Windows 10 with GPT / UEFI.

I have installed Windows 10 successfully on the Q190 but it's running in legacy / mbr mode. Is there any way to get UEFI to work on the Q190?

Installing Windows 10 on GPT partition only works with computers UEFI on BIOS.

When you tried to disable CSM mode on BIOS did it give you the option for UEFI?

If it did then just keep CSM disabled and follow the follow wing Steps:

1. Disable Secure Boot under Security tab 

2. Click on device tab then enable SATA Controller

3. Make sure  that Configure SATA is set as AHCI not RAID

Thank you for your response. I have disabled CSM and then set the firmware to use UEFI only. Secure boot is disabled and SATA is configured as AHCI. When I try to boot with these settings and the USB flash drive connected I get the error that there are no boot devices.

I booted to the USB Windows 10 installation media with CSM enabled and used Windows diskpart to create a GPT boot record on the internal disk. I still can't install Windows 10 with CSM disabled - only in legacy MBR mode can I install Windows on this Q190.

Hi @Badmem

Boot back to BIOS and make sure OS optimized defaults under Exit tab is set to enabled then try again reinstalling windows 10.

if that will not work, try to Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) through this link.

I re-downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and burnt it to a different USB flash drive. This time Windows 10 installed on the Q190 with CSM disabled. The PC is using UEFI / GPT mode.
