m.2 set screw for 510A-15ICB SSD

MOBO - 90HV0005US

When I opened up my computer to install the SSD into the m.2 slot on the MOBO there is no set screw where one should be. I'm not even sure if the spot where it needs to attach as any threads for a screw to anchor to, there's just a hole in the plastic. Ive checked the manual and it is definately the m.2 slot for an ssd and the manual even states to remove the screw and re-attach when replacing the m.2 storage drive. The m.2 wifi card slot (right next to m.2 ssd slot) also doesn't have a screw attached but it appears to be anchored by a red plastic nodule of some sorts. Is it ok to just find any set screw that will fit and anchor down the SSD? If my ssumption is right and the hole doesn't have any threads for the screw how would I go about anchoring down the SSD?

Re: m.2 set screw for 510A-15ICB SSD

Hi sbxmmr,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Yes it would be a plastic nodule like the WLAN card and you can connect it to the SSD bracket as shown below.

Upper row for bigger boards

Second row for smaller boards

Checking 90HV0005US for commodity type on HDD part shows PN 02CW375 (AVC, M.2 SSD brk2 (rubber)) that came with it perhaps left on the box if not installed.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
