This error can occure when your BIOS is not completely compliant with the ACPI. Here is one bypass that could help. Restart your computer and press F7. You should get this message: Press F6 if you need to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver screen. Do it and see if it helps. It should disable ACPI and install Standard HAL.

I'm having the same problem with a brand new machine. I thought it was a hardware problem so I figured I'd try the latest Linux Ultimate Boot CD, start with a memtest and go from there. Even that CD boots but crashes immediately.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I had ordered a Lenovo H500s (dos) on Amazon.es. Today it arrived. But As above I can't install Windows 7 32/64 on it. I got the same error as above. It is not possible to get any support from Lenovo. So I think I will send it back.
Or has someone already a solution for this problem?

Where's Lenovo on this? Do they read these posts??????
I'm having the same issue.
It would be geat if they could provide a BIOS update that would let us put Windows 7 on it.
Lenovo, are you there????
