How do I find an authorized service center!

2017-09-21, 18:03 PM

I have an H50-05 with a bad power supply and 2 weeks out of warranty.  My credit card company extends the warranty 1 year, but they need (and will pay for) a diagnosis from an authorized service center.    The Lenovo website says there is only one service center within 100 miles, but when I call that company they say they don't repair anything.

Is there such a thing as an authorized service center, and how do I find one.

You don't indicate where you are or what page you looked at.  I would start here:

That is what I used.  I get the map below.  I called "1" and found they don't have a service department.

Here's a site you can check: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/serviceprovider#

I know in my area, some Best Buy also repair Lenovos under warranty, so you might want to check with your local Best Buy's Geek Squad team.

In addition, Lenovo has a depot service center where you have to send in the unit for repairs, credit card companies should cover that as well.

Well that's better...  it shows zero centers, but at least it doesn't include the one that doesn't repair computers.

I will check with Best Buys.

Best Buys says that if I take it to a store, they will get it to an authorized service center and get me a diagnosis for $35.  Sub optimal, but a great deal better than nothing.  Thanks much for your help.
