Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

Dear Lenovo,

I have recently purchased Y710 Cube 15-ISH with H170 that support Kaby Lake CPUs (according to Intel's ARK), but requires just a BIOS upgrade. Since it was available only with i5-6400 here, I want now to upgrade to i7. So I want to ask when we can expect upgrade of BIOS on Y710, so I can upgrade my CPU to Kaby Lake i7, which is basically same price as 6th gen but faster. Other mainboard suppliers already provided their customers such updates.

Best regards,

Adam Strzelecki

Would be a nice addition indeed, should it come out, any updated updates should be available on their support page.

Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

Would love to know this aswell. But I wonder, I have the i5-6400, and for me its a bit slow :-/ So could I just install a SkyLake anytime and it would be fine? And if I would later on install a KabeLake I need to wait for bios update?

Any more information from Lenovo would be great!

Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

Any news about Kaby Lake BIOS upgrade? Lenovo, it is really just tiny software update for new timings and voltages, but the Kaby Lake CPUs are faster and even cheaper than Sky Lake and I want to have i7 on my Lenovo.

Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

I returned mine within the 30 days 100% refund since I dont want Lenovo on my shoulders for years waiting for a simple update. Built my own custom computer with everything I need. Will probably never buy a Lenovo product again. However I really hope they wake up and help those that want to replace the cpu.

Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

Yeah, this is really disappointing, they claimed that this is kind of upgrade-able machine, but there is no BIOS update since Oct last year on: http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/desktops-and-all-in-ones/y-series/y710-cube-15ish/90fl/downloads

I keep peeking there occasionally to see if there is anything new, but no luck.

P.S. I am still pretty satisfied by the machine itself, it is silent, pretty compact and looks quite good.

Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

I just upgraded to the latest BIOS update on 20170727, and tried a kaby lake G4620, and it does not work. Anyone else tried this update yet?

Have been waiting for kaby lake support for like forever.

There is a BIOS update now but it seems to be a secret as to what it does.

Re: Y710 Cube-15ISH Kaby Lake support BIOS upgrade

Rename bios file to ZIP (o2djy23usa.exe to o2djy23usa.zip)

Then you can read the content txt-file)

Use f.ex 7zip to extract (https://www.7-zip.org/)

This is the content for the last Bios "o2djy23usa"
