ideacentre 300 anyone made a succesful windows 10/7 dual boot any tips on how to setup ?

2017-01-24, 17:01 PM

Hi all i recently got this idea centre 300s   120 gb SS  1 TB drive  no extra videocard yet or more RAM

with windows 10

I wanted to make a dual boot  since some of my games simply would not install or just crash during install or final setup

Any tips on how  to setup ?

what is best both OS's on SSD  ?

or windows 10 on  SSD

windows 7 on  HHD ?

Hi capthavoc,

Have a look at this link, give step by step instructions on Duel Booting. Ive seen a lot of issues trying to install Windows 7 onn an SSd so may be best to install on the 1TB.

Hope this help you and let us know how you get on

thnx for the tips 1 tb drive is ok

But here is my issue  I did install windows 7 onces already. but found out that I had problems with key and mouse

at first install/setup

I couldn't fill in serial,  i kinda fixed that in the end

but when the system was up and running, i stil had  major problems with keyb and mouse not working  at startup

(tried some stuff  ) had to reboot  in the end etc

i've been looking at bios setting, etc and i think i can fix it

but i'm not a 100% sure

I'm not willing  to activate  my windows 7 prof serial yet

if  I'm not sure if at least keyb and mouse work flawlessly

So can someone who has the SAME system In REAL LIVE  tell  me it works fine

with dual boot ?

i don't mind small issues, but before I activate this windows prof license I would like to have a fair change in the knowlegde it wil be fine in the end.

so anyone  running dual boot windows 10/7   fine with no problem ?

and did you have to change some settings

I would like to know that aswell

update: i have been at it for a while now but this mouse and keyb thingy got me baffle
I can't get it to work ?
......anymore a jumpy mouse cursor at best
i used every setting in bios i can think of that has to do with usb
support for non UEFI OS
it works fine when i am in bios but as soon as i boot the dvd to a windows 7 install disk and i get the first screen there is no mouse pointer so I can't do a thing. and that is strange the first time i tried to install I ran into the no mouse and keyb but after a reboot it did work now i get nothing

i downloaded and install easyUEFI free version and i notice the entry "generic usb was on hidden or disabled
while I know i set legacy support for usb just a min ago
is there any biosupdate or uefi update needed or something ?
