Dead pixels in Lenovo Explorer

My Lenovo Explorer, with very little use, is now showing a round dark spot with a bright disc behind - like an inverted eclipse. I thought at first it could be a problem with the screen, but the strange thing is that this appears in exactly the same position for both eyes, which seems to indicate the issue is somewhere else. Any idea of what this could be?
