Error Code 7-14?

2020-04-13, 21:46 PM

Recently my headset has stopped working and displaying the error code 7-14 with no actual info online on what this error is, it's either a display cable error, presence sensor error or an issue with my motherboard, can someone tell me exactly what error code 7-14 is and how to fix it?

I think I had this issue before. There's a few things you could try.

  • Set your screen refresh rate to 60Hz. If you have multiple screens try unplugging all of them except one and make sure that last one is set to 60Hz.
  • Reboot. Literally, just reboot your PC. Sometimes my headset says it's not detected and this is what fixes it. I know it's a different issue, but this might work as well.
  • Try different HDMI port on your video card.
  • Unplug your headset, uninstall Windows Mixed Reality, reboot (just in case), plug in the headset and let Windows install WMR on its own.

Hope it helps
