[Lenovo Explorer] Black screen, already tried everything in this forum

2019-02-11, 0:24 AM

Hello all,

I have had my LE for a few months already. It worked fine with SteamVR in the beginning until a Win10 update. Then, everytime I opened WMR portal, I could see in the monitor that I have tracking while moving the headset, and SteamVR says the headset is ready, but the screen inside the headset is turned off, completely black (not like a screen that is on but black and you still see some light, it just doesn't come on at all).

I tried uninstalling, and installing it again, rolling back drivers, playing aound with the resolution and reverting it back (I even bought a new monitor, unrelated to this problem, but the change of native resolution didn't do anything either).

I DO NOT have Insider preview builds.

Basically, I tried everything I read in this forum, and saw on YouTube as a possible solution, but nothing worked.

I just left it unused for a few weeks, then one day I tried again and it was working out of nowhere! It worked for a week and then it happened again.

I have tried everything all over again and nothing seems to fix it Everything in Device Manager looks ok.

PC specs:

MS Windows 10 Home 10.0.17763 Build 17763

Last update January 22, 2019—KB4476976 (OS Build 17763.292)

CPU: i7 8700

Motherboard: Z370P D3

RAM 16 GB

GPU NVIDIA GE Force GTX 1080ti (Driver version 417.71)

Hi,

I had a similar problem, but on a different headset.
What helped in my case was changing the refresh rate of my PC screen to 60Hz (it was running at 96Hz).

You can find me in gaming, Ideapad and Thinkpad forums most of the time.
