Re: Lenovo Explorer: problem with motion controllers pairing

Hello, I recently purchased a Dell Computer that came bundled with the Lenovo Explorer. I set up the Windows Mixed Reality and headset on December 29, 2017. Everything worked fine then. Today, January 01, 2018, I wanted to use my Explorer for VR apps and my motion controllers worked for about 10 minutes. While using the WMR Hub, I was dragging and dropping in the portal just fine until I wanted to use the Desktop in VR and attempted to log on Steam. This is where the problem began. I used the triggers and did not bring up the virtual keyboard and the tracking pad was moving places where I did not think of moving it to. I turned my controllers off thinking it would help like it did the past couple of days.

So I went on the community forums and found that one user had a similar problem that the controllers were not pairing when trying to re-sync. I did the following:

>Removed batteries and get new ones

>Turn off the controllers on the Window button for 3-5sec.

>Hold down the pairing button and then holding the Window button for about 15-20sec.

>It should have done a factory reset on the controllers

After that procedure, I attempted to re-sync my controllers....well, it still doesnt work.

I uninstall WMR and reinstall, repeated the process with the controllers as well, and still does not work. My controllers have stopped pairing. When I go to settings to check on my Bluetooth's detection, the device reads as "Input" instead of "Controller". This problem has been ongoing for hours. What should I do?

Hi ,

Welcome to the Community,

You are having these issues within Steam VR? or also in the Windows Mixed Reality Hub?

Re: Lenovo Explorer Motion Controllers

Hi - I am having the same exact issue. It isn't in WMR or Steam - its in the OS. When I click add new hardware (after removing it from bluetooth because it was unresponsive) and bluetooth device, if I get anything as a device it just says "Input" as a device and the icon looks like a XBOX contoller shape, not a motion controller left/right shape.

Re: Lenovo Explorer Motion Controllers

EXACTLY the same problem... tried all of the above too. controllers look like they are synching but after 30 seconds or so buzz 3 times and nothing happens.
Input not motion controller thing happening for me too.
Been at it hours now, losing the will...

Re: Lenovo Explorer Motion Controllers

Sorted THANKS!

Jayzus what a pain its been wracking me tiny brains and scouring the internet.

Thank you.

I know this tech is all new and so forth but it seems to be a never ending trouble shooting mission, crashes and freezes, fixes and patches. I stupidly thought that everything would just kind of work, but hey. Been a long time since I was using Windows a lot, so this is kind of like a "welcom back, geezer" kind of a thing.

Phew!
