Betreff: YOGA 910: Questions & Answers

I've just noticed that the 910 has the same keyboard layout as the 900s - in other words, it's lost the vertical row of special function keys on the right, and has that annoying (to touch typists) swap of the upcursor and right Shift keys.

Is this now the Lenovo standard?

YOGA 910: Best Laptop @ IFA 2016

The YOGA 910 is the best notebook of the IFA 2016. It is not the best wearable, not the best smartphone, not the best smartwatch, not the best innovation. It did not attract the biggest crowds at the show. However, finally, the Yoga ultrabooks rock with tech. experts.

@ The YOGA BOOK stole the show on its looks and innovate design. The YOGA BOOK area @ IFA 2016 was always overcrowded and everybody was speaking about it during the coffee breaks. It had the most press coverage. It looks like from star-trek and each panel is only 4mm thin.

YOGA 910 is the best notebook. The YOGA BOOK has the potential to be a really great (android or windows) tablet, though. You can imagine, that with further innovation it could open a completely new segment for consumer electronics that other brands would want to copy.

You are right. The Yoga book is one of the most impressive product and could open a new segment for consumer electronics. Much more useable then boring android tablets. The Yoga Book has the potential to be something. It can replace the shrinking market of tabletsa and ipads.

The Yoga 910 is the best product of the IFA is only my own, totally subjectiv opinion. Smiley Happy I am not doing anything of smartphones weareables and smartwatches.

I am only interested in personal computer, CPUs, GPUs, convertibles, ultrabooks and notebooks-. Smiley Happy

Yoga 910: Power Adapter

When examining the power adapter of Yoga 910 with keen interest @ IFA 2016, I noticed that it has 3 different types of power output:

(a) 20V with 2.25A

(b) 12V with 3A

(c) 5V with 2A

This seemed to me quite remarkable because these three are the exact voltage necessary for charging the Yoga 910, a table, and a smartphone. I have submitted this question to the Lenovo Yoga 910 team @ IFA 2016 and their engineers confirmed today that:

"YOGA 910 power adapter can not only charge the notebook (20V) but also tablets (12V) and smartphones (5V), as long as it’s type c type device."

Bravo! For example, the Moto Z series uses USB-C charging, so with Yoga 910 adapter you could also charge your Moto Z. This is real (but unnoticed) progress. In the future, you might NOT need to carry multiple power adapters for all devices at any time.

Yoga 910 looks amazing.

Will all Yoga 910 models have a TPM for bitlocker encryption included?

Re: IFA 2016: YOGA 910

What do you wanna know about the USB-C charging? The power supply is connected via the adapted to the USB-C port to charge the notebook. There's no other power supply port.

There are 2 Type-C USB port and one standard USB port. The standard USB port can be used to charge your phone even when the Yoga 910 is off.

It will be interesting to see if there are some external battery solutions (DC) that support the 910's USB-C charging port now.

Already I'm very happy to see the great battery life specs for the 910 - a real selling feature for me.

Re: IFA 2016: YOGA 910

1. Does it have gorgeous Sharp IGZO 400cd/m2 100%sRGB IPS screen panels? or some new cheap slops from China? Does screens use eyes-damaging PWM-flickering or not?

2. What is the level of the keyboard quality? (travel distance, etc) Ideapad like or Thinkpad like?

3. Does it have Wacom stylus (Thinkpad Active Pen) support? (for example there is info about Wacom Pen support)

4. Is Yoga910 case-body is more sturdy-strong than X1Yoga case?

5. Will Lenovo gonna make versions with Intel Iris GPU or not?

6. When versions with FHD will arrive at shops at USA and China?

Lenovo won't tell you this, you have to wait for Notebookcheck review. You can be almost sure there is low PWM frequency issue again (some models use 50 Hz only) Smiley Frustrated Lenovo knows about that issue but completely ignores it as other persistent display issues.

Re: IFA 2016: YOGA 910

50Hz is much more close to some interference from power line from 220V/50hz... i suppose its not a PWM really.

Can any one from lenovo tell me for sure - does Yoga910 support Wacom stylus or not???
