510-15IKB Laptop (ideapad) with Sandisk 960 Gb SSD

2017-03-16, 13:18 PM

Hello friends,

I bought a Lenovo notebook a couple of days ago and installed a Sandisk SSD replacing the original 1 TB Western Digital harddisk. I installed Windows 10 and then from the Lenovo webpage i installed the required drivers etc. And with the first restart the system did not boot and poped out a epairing disc notification. But no matter what i tried disc was not repaired.

Anyway i reinstalled windows 10 and after installing the drivers once again the same thing happened. I suspect intel rapid storage drivers are causing this. But have not done any trial and error attempt yet.

Any of you faced such an issue ?

Thank you

Well i solved it. Frankly i thought it was a problem caused by the intel rapid storage or chipset drivers. And i installed the win10 once again but this time to another SSD which was 500 gb samsung 750 evo. And i had the same problem again. Before installing w10 i also updated to the latest version of bios.

And finally i found out that eachtime i installed northon and restarted the computer it was unable to boot and showing me a notification like repairing disc etc.

This is a problem caused by northon both on sandisk ssd and samsung ssd. I don't know what the logic is but that is the case. I changed to another antivirus and security software and all disks are working fine...

Hello Ozciceky

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

From my experience mostly with SD cards, but there seems to be a bit a of a compatibilty problem with SanDisk and Lenovo, as to what end, no clue.

Try to use the old hard drive, see if boots up with that in there.

Let us know how you get on.

Well i had the same issue with Samsung 750 evo 500 gb SSD as well. And each time i installed northon security and restarted the computer it was unable to boot. So now i no longer use northon and computer is totally fine with both SSD's. If anything goes wrong again i'll share the info here...
