Does the SSD upgrade void warranty on Flex 10?

2014-08-12, 10:16 AM

Hi, I'm going to upgrade the mech HD of my Lenovo Flex 10 with a Samsung SSD 840 EVO.

Does this upgrade will void the warranty on the entire machine? On the top of one of the two screws there's a Lenovo round sticker with only the logo, but without the notice "Warranty Void if Removed" and the Lenovo Terms and Conditions alerts only with  "The warranty is voided by removal or alteration of identification labels on the Machine or its parts.", it doesn't speaks about specifics "warranty labels".

Thanks!

On this question http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/Yoga-13-Can-we-replace-the-battery-by-ourselves/ta-p/1255399 it's written "Only FRU part can be replaced by customers without voiding the warranty; however, it does not apply in this case which most of the ideapad especially Yoga 13 have a battery embedded inside.", and on Lenovo Flex 10 HMM the HDD it's reported as FRU part, so can i proceed?

I've also found this other question http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Will-System-Update-work-if-I-change-my-Hard-Drive/ta-p/866057 where it's reported "Changing the drive will not void your warranty as long as you don't cause damage by improper installation.", it's also applicable for me?
