Ideapad 100s11IBY touchpad tap to click issue

2016-03-02, 18:37 PM

The 100s has no way to disable tap to click on the touchpad. This 'feature' makes it nearly impossible for me to use the touchpad, and I bought this laptop for it to be entirely self contained. The the touchpad uses the microsoft HiD Driver. There is no option to disable tap to click in Windows Settings or the HiD driver in the device manager. Is there any 32bit driver or other solution to disable tap to click?

I see this question came up back in March, 2016. It is now July, 2016 andthere does not seem to be any solution posted here or anywhere. What the heck?!?!? This is VERY frustrating. What's the matter with Lenovo?

Original complainer checking in, I eventually returned the 100s after it managed to **bleep** up its bootloader. Thanks win10 automatic updates. The reason why I found no answers is that its literally impossible. The touchpad isn't synaptics like the product page says, only the 14 inch 100s has it. As a result, the touchpad's tap to click functionality is hardwired into the hardware. Hell, I got help from a friend trying to write a driver for that stupid thing and it didn't even work. I've never EVER seen a touchpad thats hardwired to tap click before, and I think thats a big enough sin for people to pass on this. If you can, return your model, get an Asus C201 or something and chroot/crouton win10 or just enjoy chromeos for what it is. Same functionality but twice as pristine touchpad that actually turns off, better battery life, and better screen. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Imagodoc.

Crapola.

I really appreciate your efforts, subwoofer. And thanks for posting about your experience.

Looks like I will need to return my 100S as well.

As a college professor, I am in the position to recommend (or not recommend) laptops to literally hundreds of students, ALL of whom must purchase laptops and are often looking for the best deal. Guess what I'm going to say about the IdeaPad 100S...

ARE YOU READING THIS, LENOVO?
