Ideapad 310 display washed out

2018-07-05, 0:03 AM

Hi, my ideapad 310 colors are washed out. I have updated intel drivers, I also tried to adjust settings under Intel's software but it ruins it up further as it looks more darker if I reduce the brightness or gamma from that application else the screen looks lighter if set on default.

Specific model detail:

310-15IKB (Machine Type Model: 80TV00C0AX).

Anyone else facing this same issue?

Any solution?

P.S. I tried Windows Night Light and it helped me somehow as I can slightly remove that bluish washed out tint by adjusting the night light setting available.

Can you give me a picture of your display through a camera? You might have to deliver it to the Lenovo Service Center because of the washed out display.

Thank you for the response. I have attached some of the photos. It looks darker due to the phone camera, otherwise all the whites  are washed out and have bluish tint and other colors look faded.

Yup, I can see the problem clearly from the 1st pic.

Only choice is to bring it to the service center, because that's the display itself the problem.

Tip:

Don't put objects or things on the the top of your laptop (when you close the lid) especially when they are heavy. Usually they can cause these kind of problems in the display. If you have done this, please do avoid. If you don't have a place to put some objects, then just make sure you don't put heavy stuffs, just the light ones, to avoid the pressure of the display carrying the weight of the object.

Yeah you are right, but I just carry some books in my laptop backpack. I don't think they would cause much pressure as both the laptop and books sit vertically.

I found a software called Calibrize for Windows. It has solved my problem (If it isn't a hardware one). I am still not sure if it's  a hardware issue. When I opened up that software it asked me to adjust my brightness and contrast so that I can barely see the dark and light circle. At first, I wasn't able to see that light circle because of all those washed out colors, it was plain white. When I adjusted my brightness and contrast from Intel's application I was totally surprised. After final touches, now the screen looks much better.

I have attached before and after photos of the screen (Notice the one showing Calibrize software and the visibility of circles I mentioned above).

Let me know what you think about it.

Regards.
