Ideapad 310 i5 processor Ram replacement

2017-02-28, 4:14 AM

Hi, I have Lenovo Ideapad 310 Core i5 and want to replace RAM with 4GB DDR3.

I have below ram from my previous Thinkpad with details below:

Samsung 4GB DDR3 RAM 2Rx8 PC3-12800S (Lenovo FRU 03X6561)

Is it compatible to replace the RAM with it?

Hi friend,

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.

As I understand that you are looking for Ideapad 310 RAM replacement

As per psref this model ues DDR4 which is not backwards compatible with DDR3 motherboards and vice versa. The notch has been moved to prevent accidental insertion of the wrong type of memory. Instead of 240 pins, each module features 288 pins.

And also this model has soldered RAM too if that's the case you need to check whether it has an extra slot.

So suggestion will be to use 12GB max / 2133MHz DDR4, dual-channel capable depending upon the Models.

I hope the above information helped you.
