Idepad 110 wont charge past 60%

I have recently bought Lenovo idepad 110.

Im usually using it while plugged-in so Ive decieded to turn on battery conservation in Lenovo settings app.

Recently I had to use it on battery because my plug was too far away from it so Ive turned off the battery conservation option so I could charge the battery fully BUT it still only charged up to 60%.

Ive even reinstalled lenovo settings app but it still wont charge past 60%.

When I first bought it and didnt know there was a battery conservation option it charged normally up to 100% so I guess its some kind of software malfunction.

Anyone had any similar experience or knows how to resolve this?

Re: Idepad 110 wont charge past 60%

Hi there, Split              -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Update us how it goes.

I believe this is a Conservation Mode problem coming from Lenovo Settings for the battery and how the App integrates. I have exactly the same problem and no matter the setting of my toggle the battery won't go above the conservation setting.

I believe the App needs an update from Lenovo.......or removed. There are quite some people complaining about this issue now, which is unfortunate because if it works, it's a good idea.

EDIT: Just ran a Windows Update and a System Update via the Lenovo Companion and at least now when I toggle the Conservation Mode it started to work and I'm back to 100% on the battery. After a few reboots will see if the setting is default or whether it needs toggled each start. At least it means I can charge up when needed and unplug.

After running that Update via the Lenovo Companion, everything is back and working again.

Noted that the upgrade installed new drivers all from Intel;
Rapid Storage Technology
Intel DPTF
VGA
Serial-IO
Chipset
Management Engine Interface

plus, Realtek Audio

Battery cannot be remoced by user on this model (or at least I dont know how to) so not sure how to flush out static. I think I mentioned that I uninstalled lenovo settings and tried to charge it to 100% but it still charged up to 60%. Im just now making updates with lenovo companion and wll let you know if it works after that.

P.S.

I just tried once more to turn off the battery conservation mode before my updates are installed and device is updated and NOW it charges normally up to 60%????? Not sure what to say.
