Re: Lenovo 500S-14ISK Laptop (ideapad)

Hi there, Yufang         -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

You could also use the System Restore feature to get your computer back the time when it worked.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo 500S-14ISK Laptop (ideapad)

Hi Shashi,

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunately, the two methods you suggested below is not working. I tried both ways and my touchpad is still not functioning. I also received an error message. "APLS_setmousemonitor error"

Please advise.

Re: Lenovo 500S-14ISK Laptop (ideapad)

Try to perform the below steps:

  1. You can Boot time scan from the Quick Heal Total security.
  2. Go into bios and under usb disable legacy support.
  3. Find out which function key controls the touchpad. On Toshiba Satelite, it is f9. Hold function
key, then using an external mouse, turn the touchpad on,

Update us how it goes.

Hi Shashi,

I dont quite understand the steps below, would you be able to explain further?

  1. You can Boot time scan from the Quick Heal Total security.
  2. Go into bios and under usb disable legacy support.

For my laptop, the key control for the touchpad is F6. I google it sometimes back and after i enable it still not functioning.

Please advise.
