Lenovo IdeaPad 300 endless logo loop

2018-01-06, 15:03 PM

After a Windows update the device restarted, it showed the Lenovo logo for a couple of seconds with the loading circle at the bottom then flashed a small window in the top left side for a split second and then showed that windows is returning to the older version, that stays fro maybe 2 seconds and then it goes to the logo again and is just stuck in that endless loop, I restarted it many times but every time I do it just does the same thing, please help all my work is on my laptop and I've tried entering the bios with F2 on the logo but it doesn't work

You need to re-install Bios software by re-programming the chipset on the motherboard.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community David503 !

With the Ideapad 300 series you should be able to enter the BIOS Setup by using the NOVO button.  Page #25 of the User Guide I have listed below will explain in more detail.

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_300-14isk_300-15isk_300-17isk_ug_en_201602.pdf

It sounds like you had a failed Windows Update.  You could do a One Key Recovery to restore the laptop to its out of the box new condition, but in doing so you will lose all your personal data on the drive.  To save the data, I would recommend that you visit a local computer repair center and have them recover the data and then do the hard drive restoration for you.  Page #23 of the User Guide explains the One Key Recovery operation.

Actually I have no physical NOVO button on my laptop. The exact model is Lenovo IdeaPad 80HQ002HGE I5-6. I have no important data on it because most of it was on an external drive. Is there a way to revert it to the "out of the box" state without going to service because I can't afford to not have it for 4 weeks

That MT-M doesn't come up in SUPPORT search :(   20HQ looks like a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 5 MT-M.

Can you clarify which laptop you have?

Ah, 20QH, not 20HQ.   300-17ISK.

According to https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_300-14isk_300-15isk_300-17isk_ug_en_201602.pdf
