Lenovo ideapad 320-15IAP keyboard work only in bios

2017-11-16, 10:27 AM

Hello

After a month of use, the keyboard and the touch unexpectedly turn off in the Lenovo ideapad 320-15IAP

After starting Operation system, only 2 keys work - the brightness adjustment (f11 f12)

The power button, which is located on the keyboard, for a single press, does not turn off the laptop

Only pressing power buton for 5 seconds turn off the laptop

at the BIOS stage keyboard works fine

Its turn of at once Operation System starting

Resetting the BIOS to the default settings, updating the BIOS version did not give results

reinstaling Operation system, starting another operation system from usb flash - the same result

keyboard is in the device manager(windows), but nothing works

different advice from the forums lenovo to other models (such as hold down the power button or novo button for 15 seconds) also tried

 any ideas?

Hello Vampirich

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

It is curious that it should work in the BIOS but not in the OS, if it would not work in the BIOS then it would be an easy hardware problem, however, as it works in BIOS it should be a software problem, but as you mentioned, you have reinstalled the OS, which should confirm a hardware fault, but I presume the keyboard still works in the BIOS?

I would recommend to see if you can revert back to the factory settings with the NOVO button, and see if the issue persists.

If the issue stays, it will have to be some sort of hardware fault, in which case, it would be best to get in touch with your local Lenovo support line for a repair.

Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

See this page...

you have to remove the screws, back, CMOS and main battery cables. Then all is well. Just fixed my nieces laptop and am using it to post this right now. Felt compelled to share with others. Couldn't believe this was the ONLY fix.

Hello, I have lenevo ideapad 320 from the last 2 years. Suddenly the keyboard is not working on loading the os. But it works fine at the bios setup. Some of the function keys only works after loading the os. (F5-F11) and the power button key. Please help Asap.
