Speaker/headphone/audio jack problem- Lenovo 310-15IAP 80TT

Hey, everyone! I am having a problem with my audio jack:

1. First of all my laptop doesn't seem to acknowledge when I put my headphones/external speakers in the jack... no notification or reaction from the Laptop.

2. Second- only left headphone is working. Other than that the laptop speakers are good, the only problem is with the jack.

What I've done is to reset my PC, to return it to it's factory settings... but no change! Still the same problem!

Laptop is new.. less than 3 months..  I am desperate... Smiley Sad

I really hope there's something I can do and you could help me with that! I really don't think it''s a hardware problem.. I have taken good care of the machine, no troubles.

Thank you!

Re: Speaker/headphone/audio jack problem- Lenovo 310-15IAP 80TT

Hi there, Eva               -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Playback Devices under Sound Properties (by going to Control Panel (large icon view) > Sound > Playback Devices) and see if the Headphone is being set as the default playback device. If not, click on it and set it as the default playback device, try to play a sample sound and observe.

There is usually a hardware switch in the socket, which is engaged when you put the plug in. Seems like it might be mechanically broken.

Last resort would be backing up your files and doing a factory reset to isolate if it's an OS issue.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Speaker/headphone/audio jack problem- Lenovo 310-15IAP 80TT

Thank you so much for the help but unfortunately so far- not much luck.
1. When I open the Playback Devices... only Speakers appear, there is no icon for Headphones at all in order for me to put them as a default device
2. I haven't pulled something agressively and I still hope it's not a hardware problem but... it might..
3. I did return my PC to factory settings...at least I think so... "Settings- Upgrade&Security-Recovery- Reset this PC"and no change at all... Smiley Sad Any other ideas hopefully?
And really- thank you again for the time and effort! Smiley Happy

If it doesn’t work,I would recommend contacting Lenovo service centres and applying the normal phone techniques to get it replaced promptly.
