ideapad 100 15ibd issue with wifi speeds

I cannot get speeds above 30mbps with the wifi in this laptop.  All of the other laptops in the house can pull 130-140mbps on speedtest.net.  Anyone have any ideas?

Hi kschumake83,

Thanks for posting.

I am sorry to hear the issue with the wifi-speeds you are getting.

I would suggest you to make sue that you have installed the correct drivers for your wireless adapter and  is up to date. After that restart your modem.

Then try with this please, open the internet connections troubleshooter by clicking the start button , and then clicking control panel. in the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click troubleshooting. under network and internet, click connect to the internet

Please let us know if this works or if you need further assistance.

Regards.

Re: ideapad 100 15ibd issue with wifi speeds

I have tried the drivers from Lenovo's website and the updated ones from Microsoft update. I have restarted the modem and my USG (unifi secure gateway) along with the controller for all of my ubiquiti network gear.  I have checked all of the adapter settings and the network troubleshooter never came up with anything.  It seems as though the wireless is stuck in g mode.

Anyone have any other ideas?  I have never had any luck with broadcom or atheros cards,  can I swap it out for an intel one or is this laptop just like my b570 that it wont accept any other wireless cards?
