Power button is on and keyboard lights up, but my display will not turn on no matter what I do

I have a Slim 7 ProX AMD, and have only had it for about a year. It has been working flawlessly up until the one year mark (when my warranty ended) and now I constantly get fTPM messages, crashing, the screen randomly freezes, but the worst is that it simply won’t turn on. The laptop is on, and if I put it back into my bag in this state it overheats since the fans won’t turn on, but the processor is generating heat. The power button is on and the keyboard lights up, but there’s no display whatsoever. I’ve plugged it into power, reset the display, used Ctrl+Shift+Windows+B, and tried just shutting it down and turning it back on. The reset button on the back doesn’t work either, it also just turns on the keyboard and power button but still completely unresponsive. Holding the reset button used to get me to the boot menu, but now that doesn’t even work. Also, in the rare instance I do get the laptop to turn on and get into windows, it freezes every 5-10 minutes and can stay frozen making me have to restart it, which doesn’t work because it won’t turn on it boot up. Im in a loop of freezing, restarting, laptop goes non-responsive on start up, have to do anything and everything to get it to turn on, then it does, and freezes again.

Re:Power button is on and keyboard lights up, but my display will not turn on no matter what I do

Welcome to Lenovo Community nocharis,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your Slim 7 ProX AMD. Besides overheating in the bag, does the laptop feel excessively hot when it's on and unresponsive?

Firstly, I would recommend trying to boot your laptop in Safe Mode. This can help to determine if the issue is caused by a software conflict. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Turn off your laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press and hold the F8 key.
  3. Once the Advanced Boot Options menu appears, select Safe Mode.

If your laptop works fine in Safe Mode, it's likely that a software issue is causing the problem. You can then try to uninstall recent updates or applications to see if this resolves the issue.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Hassen_Lenovo

The laptop remains completely unresponsive. I cant access the boot menu, or the bios. The caps lock key is unresponsive. The laptop completely fails to post. The screen's backlight does not even come on, its completely unresponsive.
