Re:14ARE05 Flex 14 - Pen desyncs

I usually got wrong wifi connection after some updates. I have solved it some times, for example today,  a) uninstalling "realtek 8822CE wireles..." on device manage, b) restarting the laptop and c) connecting again to the router. Will there be something similar for fix it our issues?

By the way, the spring is not the problem in my pen.

There is not a solution yet! I work with the laptop as no-touch screen monitor.

Now, Wifi issues persist, I require, twice a week, uninstall the wifi device from device manager, restart the laptop and introduce the password again.

There sure isn't. They've thrown 3 replacement pens at me and no results. They're clueless. I don't think I've ever regretted an electronics purchase more than this one. Lenovo does not support their products.

Fix for pen desync lenovo active pen 2

2021-05-13, 9:00 AM

HI! I was having problems with my active pen 2 - the computer reacted to pushing the buttons sometimes, but never really recognized the tip of the pen,
So I did this thing with the spring explained in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPx8zw6XFYI&t=102s, which didn´t change much, but as I had read before that for some people it helped to pull out the tip a little bit, I did this, too.
And finally (!!), it worked out.

Lenovo should definitely call back the product and change this problem, but for now, I´m happy with this solution.

Re:14ARE05 Flex 14 - Pen desyncs

Hi everybody!

As I mentioned above, I had the same problem: serious intermittent disconnection. There was no noise with the battery shaking the pen; so, I thought It could not be a false electric contact and I tried never the spring solution. However, one day I noted the pen get back its connection if I shake as trying came out "the ink". So, I proceeded to insert additional spring from an ink-pen. Unbelievable!!!! No any more interruptions; now, I enjoy the touchscreen ability, specially with software that distinguishes between pen and finger to avoid writing mistake.

I really hope you can solve soon your pen problem.

PS: I am not so happy with Lenovo services, so I don't think to extend the warranty period.

The spring shenanigans also did nothing for me. I also recall a Lenovo rep peddling the video to me which is fairly ridiculously given that I had multiple OEM springs from their replacement pens that all did the same thing.

Haven't tried the pen tip thing, though I'm not holding my breath.

Currently they're telling me to reinstall Win10 which is not likely to fix the issue, then they're saying they can start a repair on the laptop itself. But I seriously doubt they're even going to be able to identify what needs repaired. All arrows point to the fact that this is just the way the product is. It doesn't have powerful dual-band WiFi/Bluetooth (more or less the internet is unusable if a Bluetooth device is connected,) which is just did to the wireless card being weak. ai don't think there's anything "wrong" with the pen functionality technically speaking, other than it's a $500 laptop.

The extended warranty issue is apt, because it's apparent that the laptop really needs it, which doesn't speak well for it. Needless to say, I don't want to pay for extra because the product is mediocre.
