Backspace key doesn't work

I have a problem with the keyboard on my Lenovo IdeaPad 3-15ALC. Except for the Backspace key, everything works. Only this single key no longer works. The device is only almost three weeks old. I have already restarted it and uninstalled the keyboard driver once. I have also tried the on-screen keyboard, which works without any problems - including the backspace key.
Can you give me any tips before I have to contact support?

Good to have you here. You may try these simple troubleshooting steps to further isolate the issue. I'd like to give a heads up that you might've done some steps here already but go over again as these steps are arranged on a systematic order.


or keyboard having issue typing or if some keys that are not working, follow the troubleshooting steps instructed here.


Test the keyboard again by connecting an external USB keyboard. See of this would further isolate the issue.


Access the Settings from Start button > Ease of Access > Keyboard. Turn on the Use the On-screen Keyboard feature. If the on-screen keys work along with the external keyboard yet failed to operate in the CMD lines, it can be a hardware issue.


Otherwise, a board replacement can be a solution for this.
