Cannot get status of repair of my brand new Lenovo laptop

I received a new Ideapad Flex laptop for my birthday on Oct 1.  Within a week, the touchpad stopped working.  I contacted Lenovo, and they sent me a FedEx label to ship it back to them for repair.  Since then, I cannot get an update.  I was told I'd have it back in a 10-day turnaround time fo repar.  I've called them twice, and was told I'd get an update by email within 24-48 hours.  I don't get any email.  (it is also NOT in my spam.)  This is very poor service, and very frustrating.  Are they trying to steal my laptop or what.
