E595 problem with wifi drops

2020-04-30, 9:28 AM

Hi,

i have a E595 and the integrated Realtek 8822BE Wifi module shows sporadic (once or mulitple times a day) wifi drops. The wifi connections drops and does not reconnect. Only switching airplane mode on and off, i can reconnect. With my T470 i don't have those issues on the very same Wifi network. Deleting the driver and reinstalling did not help.

I had the E595 with Lenovo service and they supposedly changed the wifi module and the antenna cables and set energy saving to maximum power for the Wifi. Unfortunatly, the problem still exists. Now service wants me to reinstall windows 10 completly, before the would change the mainboard.

Does anyone else have those wifi issues with an AMD Edge and Realtek module? I have windows 10, 1909 installed and the latest drivers (2024.0.10.105) from the Lenovo update tool.

The solution for this has been the same on every Realtek Wireless I've ever had regardless of model or machine running windows. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." You can access this from in the device manager>>properties.

I didn't have this problem on my E595 because I did it before it could happen, but it would.  Wording may be different in Windows 7/8/10 but it's the same thing.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunatly this setting did not help. Power saving is already turned off for wifi. The problem occurs also, when the Laptop is connected to the power cable. After a fresh installation from lenovo USB drive, the problem still exists. Also with a new mainboard, the problem is still there. By the way, connection quality is excellent (internally measured field strength around -40 dB).

Hey. I have had same issue. First I tried to change energy savings features, but nothing work.

Then I've installed driver for Realtek 8822BE wifi adapter version 2023.56.502.2017 (Release date 31.05.2017) and manually choose the driver from list of installed drivers (it is not compatible).

And it has fixed the probled, till Windows autoupdated drivers, so dont forgerget turn off driver auto update feature.
