Flex 1570 81CA000XUS screen damage

2019-03-01, 7:23 AM

My screen seems to have suffered some damage after someone else knocked a water bottle onto it.
Part of the screen now shows as in the attached picture whenever the screen displays a dark colour.

I do still have some time left on my warranty, so that could help cover the damage.
Is there anything I can do without opening the contraption up, or should I just replace the screen/send it to be replaced?

Hi ---------------,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You would need an extra Accidental Damage Protection warranty from the usual base warranty that came with the machine to cover such event.

Best to have your warranty check here and give technical support a call for immediate service. Based on the image, nothing else to tinker with specially that it still holds warranty.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Thank you.

Do you think that the screen might have to be replaced? It seems to be a problem with the LCD screen and not the digitizer.

Hi ---------------,

Checking with the parts lookup and likewise removal steps from the hardware manual (page 52)shows the entire LCD panel for removal and disassembly. No specific OEM part number offered for separate LCD part order.

In cases of accidents without the ADP warranty, you can visit any local service center for the service or call in technical support for other repair option whichever is convenient.

Regards

The screen and the digitizer are the same part
