Flex 5 not booting properly

I have a Flex 5 that will not boot past the Lenovo screen. 

I have tried pressing the Novo button on the side. This powers up the machine but it still hangs at the Lenovo screen and doesn’t move on to the Novo button menu.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

If it`s just refusing to boot up, even into the recovery menu, I would suspect that there will be trouble with the storage drive.

 

I would recommend getting in touch with your local Lenovo support line for a possible service.

Lenovo support determined that the drive failed and has replaced it. 

I have a recent full backup that I would like to restore to this machine, but I can’t figure out how to boot the machine from a USB stick. It seems to only allow booting from the drive. 

Can you please tell me how to boot from a USB drive?
