HP Windows on an Ideapad 710s Plus

2019-12-12, 8:45 AM

So the hard drive of my Lenovo Ideapad 710s Plus got corrupted a while back. I sent it to my office to get it fixed (they replaced the SSD) and when I got it back, I found out that they had installed an HP version of Windows on my Lenovo Ideapad. I tried to look for a Lenovo version of Windows for a long time (a few months now) and I can't find it. I really want to go back to the Lenovo version of Windows because the HP software is not optimized for this laptop. There is so much HP bloatware (not to say Lenovo doesn't have any, but they were ACTUALLY useful to me) and now half of my function keys don't work. Is there a way I can go back to Lenovo's version of Windows? Is there anyone I can talk to?

You need a recovery image then. Most of newer devices are eligible to get a copy for free. Please check this article for more information.

OMG! Thank you so much. It took a day but I finally got back to my original Windows version. You're a beast!
