High Thermals noted at 100% CPU functioning on ideapad Gaming 3-15ARH05 Laptop

2021-04-21, 9:45 AM

Please note the high temperature noted as 99 degree C.  Is it because of my system fault or is this normal to show 97 to 99 deg C at full CPU performance.

Hi GodwinGe,

Apologies for the late reply.

I might suggest try running a diagnostics to check if there could be any problem with your machine and if there might be triggering the issue. You are free to include the results of the scan in your response.

Also, try to check if the same issue would occur if you are to boot the machine in safe mode.

Let us know when convenient.

Regards.

Hello GodwinGe,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I might advise to try checking if the BIOS version of your machine matches the recommended BIOS version uploaded on the support site. On the support site, enter your machine serial number to load the correct drivers. Go to Drivers and Software tab, click on Manual Update. Check and compare the drivers version.

I suggest that you share the machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK) from the sticker as it would help us detail more about your machine variant.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards.

i have updated to BIO10 as suggested and repeated the thermal stress test and noted similar results.

I opted "Performance mode" in "Lenevo Vantage Software" while running this test.

Again the Temperatures recorded was 95 to 100 Deg C.

Thank you for the feedback. Here i have  attached results from my stress test.

After BIOs update there was a significant reduction in thermals (down to 80 ~ 85 Deg C. )

I am very much happy with these results.

Thank you so much for the support.
