How to enable touchpad?

2020-09-26, 14:40 PM

I have IdeaPad 330. Recently the F6 key with touchpad on/off function stopped working. I tried to disable it from settings and control panel. I disabled it successfully but now I can not enable it gain. What do I do? Please help.

I used this video for disabling the touchpad:

I used the method described at 1:08 in the video.

Hello,

It would be easiest to explain by returning your system to factory defaults.

Run hardware maintenance scan from Lenovo.  Check under Windows program listing opening the "L" drop down and finding the Lenovo hardware scan program installed.  The latest version is named Lenovo Vantage which can be found on Microsoft store apps.

Install the latest drivers as suggested by the Lenovo Hardware Scan Program.

Microsoft Windows publishes an enhanced touchpad software.  For troubleshooting, uninstall that.  Check Windows Knowledge Base for how to uninstall it.

During a reboot, enter BIOS settings screens and select "restore to factory defaults."  Most of the time that is on the same page as "save changes and exit."

Then with system at expected factory configuration, test the touchpad functions.

Sincerely,

Usedtoberich

Installing the drivers suggested by hardware scan on Lenovo Vantage worked for me. Thank you.
